A wonderful French Faux Bamboo Bed from the 19th Century that reflects the popular Asian influence sweeping Europe at that time. Four corner posts frame the bed and are topped with turned finials. Both the headboard and footboard have a gradually curved peak all with round faux bamboo edges. One of the most unique features of this bedframe is the distinctive side rails. They are well-appointed with detail and flare up at each end to meet the headboard and footboard. Made by V. Boyer in Marseille, France, the craftsman's stamp is visible on the inside of the frame.
The Boho Chic bed was designed to be versatile as a daybed or sofa during the day, and for sleeping at night. It is detailed on all four sides so it doesn't need to be hidden against a wall. There are large castor wheels under each leg for easy movement. Use the bed in its original form or as individual components to attach the headboard and/or footboard to a Full-size frame.
